Tow trucks seized north of Kansas City part of metro predatory tow investigation
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - An investigation into predatory towing companies stretched north from the Kansas City metro.
Prosecutors charged two people earlier this month with stealing, forgery and harassment in connection with an investigation into predatory towing.
Investigators continue to build a case against the suspects while investigating other complaints about illegal towing.
Wednesday, that investigation led officers to Clinton County and a property in Holt, Mo. The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office said it worked with Kansas City police to execute a search warrant near SE PP Highway and SW Snow Drive.
You can hide the trucks, but our Property Crimes detectives are detectives for a reason.

Investigators said they seized multiple vehicles, including tow trucks, from the property.
Police and deputies said they can’t release additional information about what happened because it involves an active investigation.
It comes as Kansas City Council members prepare to discuss new rules to crack down on predatory towing across Kansas City.
Jackson County Legislators are also working on their own towing ordinance.
