Drivers may experience traffic delays for funeral procession of KCFD paramedic

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - On Friday, dozens of law enforcement agencies and first responders will attend a funeral service for a paramedic killed in the line of duty.

Kansas City Fire Department firefighter-paramedic Graham Hoffman died Sunday at the age of 29. He was killed when a patient he was transporting to the hospital stabbed him in the chest.

A public visitation will take place from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church (1600 Route 291, Liberty, MO 64068). A funeral service will follow from 1-2:30 p.m., and then a funeral procession will take place from 3-4:30 p.m. The procession will stop by Station 42, where Hoffman had been assigned. It will then return to White Chapel Funeral Home in Gladstone, Missouri.

The procession will head south on I-35 just after 3 p.m., through the I-29 interchange and proceed over the Christopher Bond Bridge. It will continue onto U.S. 71 Highway South. The procession will exit at Bannister Road, head east and then turn south at Hillcrest Road.

The route then will go past KCFD Station 42 at 6006 E. Red Bridge Rd., before heading north on Blue Ridge Boulevard to Bannister Road. The procession will go north on I-435 back north of the Missouri River and exit at Pleasant Valley Road. The procession will conclude after driving west to the White Chapel Funeral Home.
