Arrowhead Stadium to host Sporting KC game against Inter Miami CF, Lionel Messi

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - In what will likely be one of the hottest tickets in Kansas City for 2024, Sporting KC’s game against Lionel Messi and Inter Miami CF will be played in a larger venue.
Sporting KC announced Monday afternoon that it has moved the match from Children’s Mercy Park to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on April 13.
“This match has generated an unprecedented amount of interest since Major League Soccer released our schedule less than three weeks ago,” said Sporting Kansas City President and CEO Jake Reid in a statement. “We believe this will be the biggest event in Kansas City this spring and we are proud to partner with Arrowhead Events to provide an incredible experience for our fans and our team. The opportunity to host this match, which is set to be Lionel Messi’s first MLS match in the Midwest, at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is especially exciting as our region prepares to host Copa America matches this summer and FIFA World Cup matches in 2026.”
Tickets for the match, as well as free parking, are included in Sporting Kansas City season ticket memberships, the club announced.
Arrowhead Stadium’s seating capacity is 76, 416; Children’s Mercy Park is 18,467.
It won’t be the only time world-class soccer competition is featured at the home of the Chiefs. Arrowhead is also hosting the United States Men’s National Team against Uruguay on July 1 as part of the CONMEBOL Copa America 2024.
