Overland Park Police Department honors Ofc. Mike Mosher, killed in line of duty in 2020

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Overland Park police officer Mike Mosher was killed in the line of duty in 2020.
Mosher was killed in a shootout with a suspect after stopping a car for a suspected hit-and-run. The suspect who shot him, Philip Michael Carney, also died.
At the time of his death, Mosher was a 14-year veteran of the department. He was named Officer of the Year in 2019.
Five years later, the City of Overland Park honored him with a public memorial not too far from where he lost his life.
Mosher’s father Scott spoke on the legacy his son left behind and how the family has moved on since the tragic event.
