KC Current back to winning ways with return home to CPKC Stadium

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Current returned to the team’s winning ways Saturday in their first game at CPKC Stadium in two months.
After dropping the last two matches, the Current beat Utah Royals FC by a score of 1-0 Saturday evening.
The Current saw multiple opportunities in the first half, but it wasn’t until the 46 minute that the team finally scored.
Lo LaBonta found herself in a breakaway and passed to Temwa Chawinga who kicked it into the net.

The goal is Chawinga’s 15th of the season and leads the league in scoring.
Saturday’s win is the Current’s first since the NWSL’s Olympic Break.
